Niykee, who has had an eventful few years, including getting picked by Snoop to join him at The YouTube Brandcast May 2013 Niykee has a regular songwriting routine even though she has been a bit busy. Her popularity is constant to producers just beginning their careers. Many of the beats she receives spark song ideas. "I'll be able to tell within the first 5 seconds if it's a good beat. Once I have a melody in my brain, I will start writing right away." While I'm on my porch and play guitar, lyrics will appear and usually are completed in less than thirty minutes. Niykee states that, as she matures as a singer-songwriter her painful memories from her childhood are an inspiration. It's hard to avoid the painful memories of my early years, particularly the loss of my sister. These memories are included in her songs. The memories influence my songs and helps to create this greater meaning under everything which is an important thing to me--I need to know that I can listen to any one of my songs in 20 years from now and still feel proud of the things I had to say.
