She released her debut Know It All album in the same year. The third single, Scars to Your Beautiful was one of five songs that reached the top spots on Billboard which included Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100. The track in question was unique because it was based on an interview with rapper Rap-Up, many of the listeners related to her journey through self-doubt and discovering how to accept herself. Cara's music often contains positive messages regarding mental health and the importance of being self-love. She's been in the midst of anxiety and insomnia that have influenced her journey. Reuters reported that she called her album "half chaotic, but half done". She says she grew through therapy, and encourages other people to get assistance when needed. Alessia Cara, a Canadian musician, was born in Canada on 11 July 1996 to Italian descent parents. In 2010, her parents bought her a new guitar which she utilized to further develop her passion for music. She started covering the songs she loved at thirteen to show the world she had the skills and the confidence required to become an artist. Sweater Weather is among these covers which led to being discovered at the time by EP Entertainment. This record label let her write new songs of her own.
